A cow feeds above the Bancha. The river provides water to the village of Bancha and its livestock. Rok Rozman, the organizer of the tour, says that if the hydropower project goes through the small stream will disappear, since all of its flow is barely enough to run a turbine. The cow is grazing in a field just opposite the Ali Pasha Aqueduct in the Bence valley. The aqueduct was built during the reign of the Ottoman pashalik sometime in the late 1700s or early 1800s and speaks to the long history of people and water in the area.
